Ivan "Ironman" Stewart

Ivan Stewart, a living legend in off-road racing, has made the nickname "Ironman" a true reality. He has successfully overcome the toughest obstacles in off-road racing throughout his twenty-eight year career.

Stewart's individual racing prowess began in 1973 when he raced a Class 2 Buggy Solo - due to a pre-race injury to his co-driver - at the Ensendada 300. It was the first of many solo victories that led to the "Ironman" moniker and, eventually , to a partnership with Toyota in 1983; a collaboration that has created unprecedented success that continues today.

Toyota and Stewart reached victory immediately in desert and stadium off-road racing. During the twelve year history of the Mickey Thompson Entertainment Group (MTEG) stadium series, Toyota earned eleven manufacturers' championships and forty-two main event victories - nearly three times more than any other truck team. Stewart holds the record for all-time MTEG wins, accumulating seventeen victories.

In the desert, Stewart and Toyota earned thirty-three overall wins, seventeen Baja 500 and three Baja 100 victories, ten driver's championships and four SCORE World Championships. The "Ironman's" success and popularity has led to "Off-Road Challenge" a video and arcade game based on Stewart's participation in the SCORE Desert Series and an off-road virtual reality experience at the Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas. Stewart has also been a featured participant in the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race and the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb "Challenge of Champions".
